We met the Street Children, some of them the EX - Rubbish Dump Kids. Children from the very poorest families and some of them Orphans. A truely inspirational visit. To listen to these Kids telling you how they want to go on to be Teachers, Doctors and Nurses & not one of them mentioned that they wanted to work in business and make lots of money !
We flew to Cambodia from London with approx 40 KG of school equipment. We had heard about the "Cafe 151" and the "Global Child" before we left. We were also able to check out the website in detail.
We arrived on the Friday and had a quick look around and met the teachers and some of the children. We arranged to come back the following day with the equipment that we bought over from the UK.
We arrived the following day having been to the local market where we purchased some footballs for the boys and hoola hoops for the girls, the children loved them.
We then distributed the equipment that we had transported. Quite humbling really to see the childrens faces when they are given a couple of pens, pencils and a writing book. To see these Kids writing their names in their new books in their very best handwriting made everything worth while.
We were then treated to a show put oon by the Children. Singing and dancing to explain their customs and Culture....Superb....Thankyou.
